Living Beyond Loss

From loss, through grief, into hope - bereavement support for children, young people and adults.

After the loss of a loved one

When we’ve lost someone we love, we can be overwhelmed by our emotions and might not be comfortable talking about our feelings with friends or family. It might feel too private, or we might worry about upsetting other people.

Whether our loss is recent or some time ago, feelings of anger, emotional pain, frustration, anxiety, and intense sadness are just some of the things we might be experiencing.

You don’t have to go through this on your own, help is available. “Living Beyond Loss” can support children, young people and adults beyond their loss, through their grief and into a hopeful future.

What our support looks like

Our one-to-one (1:1) sessions help people to understand their grief so that they can develop ways of coping with difficult emotions and plan a way to move forward through the pain of losing their loved one.

Some of the things that we cover in the sessions:

  • Exploring feelings of grief and talking through any worries
  • Helping to understand that there is a natural process to grieving
  • Support to manage overwhelming feelings of loss and grief
  • Adapting to life after the death of a loved one
  • Developing a plan to help with moving forward, whilst maintaining a connection
  • Building healthy habits that promote self care and support our overall well-being

How this support can help

We understand that each person's journey through grief is unique to themselves and this is why our support is carefully tailored to suit the needs of each child, young person or adult.

We help people to:

  • Feel less alone with their grief
  • Talk about the person they have lost in a safe environment - talking really helps
  • Understand how the natural process to grief may be effecting themselves
  • Develop healthy ways to cope with grief, so they can apply this to their day to day life
